For this piece I first sketched a basic girl on paper. Next I scanned it and uploaded it to Adobe Illustrator where I then used the image to create an original piece of art.

This piece was made in the style of Pop Art. I first started with a photo which I uploaded to illustrator. Next I added layers on top of the piece so I could draw the outline of the photo. After the outline was complete I went in and added patterns to each section. Lastly I added the thought bubble on the side and... Voila! That's my piece.

For how quick this piece was the line work was sooo annoying. I think the part I found extremely difficult was the shoe laces. I'm very intense when it comes to shoes whether thats drawing them or wearing them, so I wanted to get them just right. In the end I actually really liked the piece and I had a lot of fun making it.

I love this piece! When I started my art class this semester I signed up for the wrong one. I had meant to take basic art class where I could draw and paint, but I ended up in a digital class. Man, it has been a challenge, but I feel like I have learned SO much. I'm so happy that I ended up in digital because otherwise I never would have experienced how much fun digital art can be. Anyway this piece was super special to me because it reminded me of some soft pastel drawing I did in my senior year of high school. Soft pastel has been one of my favorite medias since I discovered it, and this piece just felt like an old memory when I was making it.
